Quilt Card

Each weekend I've been challenging one of the consultant groups I below to to make a card from one of the designs in the card confidence program. Here's mine from this weekend. Made totally from scraps I had in my box of scraps. Very quick and simple but effective I think.

I also want to share another card I made using a new technique called pounce. I will teach this technique in March - it uses glossy cardstock and re-inkers. I like the simple nature of this card as well and the fact it works well for the guys in our life. I won't actually make this card in my classes but wanted to share as this one was so easy to make that once you've learnt how to do this techique you may want to make this card.

Last Minute Valentines

Realized this afternoon that my bible study meets tomorrow on Valentines day so I should take something to share. These were really quick and easy to make. The dimensions are 7 3/4 by 2 1/2 - then I scored at 3 1/2 and 4 1/4. I attached the candy with double sided tape. Punched a hole with my crocodile and used a circle of contrasting cardstock to add something.

This is what the poem says

God’s Valentine Gift
God’s Valentine gift of love to us
Was not a bunch of flowers;
It wasn’t candy, or a book
To while away the hours.
His gift was to become a man,
So He could freely give
His sacrificial love for us,
So you and I could live.
He gave us sweet salvation, and
Instruction, good and true--
To love our friends and enemies
And love our Savior, too.
So as we give our Valentines,
Let’s thank our Lord and King;
The reason we have love to give
Is that He gave everything.

Another Re-Inker Splash

Tried another re-inker splash but this time with 2 greens. A little dark. Embossed the edges with black. Added the embossed foil which was aged with stazon. Then decided to mount on the green just to give a little more pop. A male card - aren't they so hard! I wonder why us girls really bother as most men couldn't care. But this is for a friend to give her Dad - I hope she likes it. A like the texture in the re-inker splash.

Will have to try again tomorrow with lighter colors and see what I can come up with. Really want to make one piece I totally love!

ReInker Splash

This is a fun new technique which I think I will teach next month. Maybe not this card as the colors of the re-inkers came out a little brown for me but I still like the final card. I was going for a bright green and pink card but after the pink went brown with the green adding more pink with the cardstock didn't work. So added the black and that helped.
