Another version of the pocket card

Had fun making this one. I used the new positioning set from CTMH to the dots. Great benefit of the acrylic stamps is that you can curve them to fit you corner. So I was able to get a nice dot line round the rounded corner. This set is great for stitching as well - making your line perfect. The only thing you need to remember is to press lightly - the dots are only little and if you press too hard you get blobs rather than dots!

Card looks even better with a bar of chocolate in it now!

Croc-a-dile Dry Embossing

This is a new idea to me (and can't believe people come up with these ideas but cool idea). Maria Diaz shared this UTube video with me (thanks Maria)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwWtcrQc5Ok

Check it out. Its really easy to do. I made this card within 5 minutes of watching the video - the dots a little off but I'm sure it gets easier with practice.

I made the card into a Valentines of a different kind. None traditional colors but I'm not always traditional. All stamps and colors are CTMH. The background is created using my Cuttlebug embossing folder, best buy of 2007.

Challenges

There are lots of challenges out on the web for stampers and scrappers alike so today I decided to play with one posted on split coast stampers.

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317236

Very easy pouch it makes. This is my version 1 - I'm planning a much more complex in-depth version maybe not quite as in depth as the one on this blog (http://stampinwithmarkiesmom.blogspot.com/) but you know what I mean.

Version 1 was made from scraps on my desk so took minutes - even the heart was already stamped and cut out from a previous project where it didn't get used!
The LOVE is a CTMH rub-on new item for customers to earn this catalog. I wish they would introduce more this babies. I could sell loads. Not even allowed to sell these at the moment.

Now I have to find a chocolate bar to fit in it. The ones I have on-hand (and what girl doesn't) are too large!

Laugh

Wanted to try a new technique today so I made this card using the Manila Resist technique - another card I will teach in Feb I think. Uses a set called Endless Love and the Friends Word Puzzle Set. Instead of using cardstock you use a manila folder to do the resist on which creates the yellow look to the background. Could do the same with a cardstock of this color though I would think but then maybe the re-inker wouldn't brush on as it does with the manila. Guess it would depend on the cardstock. I wouldn't use this technique in a scrapbook though if I used a manila folder as they aren't archival.
I added the window charms to give some dimension and depth to the card.

Heart Pocket Card

Hearts don't always have to be Valentines and this is a card you would send to someone who needs a pick you up.
I will teach this card in February as I just love the ease of making the pocket. The template can be found at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=315128

The sentiment reads - Be glad if of life because it gives you the chance to love, and to play, and to look at the stars.

Serendipity Album

CTMH has a special this month for a really cute stamp set with matching papers. I loved it when I saw it and now I've used I love it even more. Here's my first project using it. I used the CTMH 9 by 9 Reflections program to help design the pages which makes it really easy!
